Charity Selected for Get Local Event
One of our main goals at Digital by Dallas is to bring awareness to and raise funds for a local non-profit. We believe that gathering digital minds and sharing stories and knowledge shouldn’t just benefit us, but our community as well.
This month our event will go to benefit TryMunity, a non-profit focused on Traumatic Brain Injury. According to the Texas Brain Injury Alliance 144,000 Texas sustain a TBI incident each year. That’s 1 Texan every 4 minutes. Currently over 381,000 Texans live with a disability due to a TBI causing incident. It is one of the leading causes of disability and death in Texas that barely gets any news coverage.
TryMunity is a non-profit organization increasing awareness and providing support to individuals and families suffering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) through an online social community for survivors and supporters of shared stories, ideas, suggestions, and words of encouragement.
Their members are individuals who have been affected in some way by traumatic brain injuries, or TBI. This includes survivors, caregivers, friends, or family members.
TryMunity’s mission is to provide a safe and educational place for anyone affected by TBI and other brain injuries to help them deal with life’s challenges, both great and small.
We are proud to announce that all funds from our Get Local event will be donated to TryMunity to help forward their mission.
